In 1937 the employees of the Pittsburgh Steel Company, Allenport Plant established a credit union for employees and their immediate families. They named the Credit Union: Pittsburgh Steel Allenport Employees Federal Credit Union. A one room office was opened in the steel plant with just 2 employees.
In 1965 the Credit Union moved to a new office in the steel plant and grew to 4 employees with assets of over 2 million.
With growth comes change and therefore in 1986 the Credit Union moved to a new building and opened membership to 16 communities and changed the name to Mon Valley Community Federal Credit Union and our assets grew again to over 24 million.
Then again, in 1996 the Credit Union outgrew their building and built a brand new building. We have since grown to 11 employees and over 175 million in assets.
If you live, work, worship, or go to school in Washington County, Fayette City, Belle Vernon, North Belle Vernon, or Washington Township, YOU and MEMBERS OF YOUR IMMEDIATE FAMILY are eligible for membership at Mon Valley Community Federal Credit Union.
